Proper Patch Installation Verification
When installing patches, you should always check to see if the patches are configured. Sometimes the state of the patch is “installed” and not “configured”. Once the patch installation is complete, type the following to check their state:
swlist -l fileset -a state.
All patches should be in the “configured” state. If not, you should run the “swconfig” command manually for each of the patches that are in the “installed” state. Then rerun the swlist command above. If the patch(es) are still in the installed state, then check /var/adm/sw/swagent.log. The cause might be that the patch(Es) were superseded by a newer patch.
