HP-UX Operating Environments

11i v1, v2 and v3 — comprehensive support of all HP-UX versions and layered software environments, including the most complex MC/ServiceGuard clusters.

Complete, not remedial

While other providers may offer just a remedial OS support option or just hardware maintenance, Beechglen understands from decades supporting HP-UX that unmatched depth and comprehensive proactive and reactive OS support is the only way to ensure uptime and reliability of critical server applications — for OS specific issues as well as hardware failures and hardware/OS dependencies.

HP-UX 11i v1 and v2 operating environments

Foundation Operating Environment (FOE)

A fully featured operating environment. In addition to the base HP-UX kernel, commands and management utilities, the Foundation OE provides internet-focused capabilities including the Apache web server and the Java runtime and development environment, plus features for industrial-strength system management, scalability, multi-system interoperability and advanced security.

Enterprise Operating Environment (EOE)

All capabilities of the Foundation OE plus critical add-on products for single system availability and performance management: OnlineJFS (Veritas VxFS v3.5), MirrorDisk/UX, EMS High Availability Monitors, Process Resource Manager and GlancePlus Pak. Focused on midrange application servers optimised for non-clustered high availability.

Mission Critical Operating Environment (MCOE)

All capabilities of Foundation and Enterprise OEs plus add-ons for multiple system availability, including Serviceguard high-availability clustering software and Workload Manager for goal-based resource management. Focused on high-end, corporate-critical database servers measuring downtime in minutes per year.

HP-UX 11i v3 operating environments

Base Operating Environment (BOE)

The entire UNIX operating system plus integrated security for systems, data and identity, secure resource and hard partitions, full Insight Control functionality with power management, health check and deployment tools, performance analysis tools, and base file system and volume management.

Virtualization Server OE (VSE-OE)

Adds advanced file system and volume management with system-level performance analysis, plus the full complement of HP-UX virtualization software from Insight Dynamics–VSE: sub-CPU partitioning, capacity planning, goal-based workload management and automated infrastructure provisioning.

High Availability OE (HA-OE)

Adds advanced file system and volume management with system-level performance analysis, plus HP Serviceguard — supporting both local and stretch clusters for cost-effective disaster recovery, with tested Serviceguard toolkits for key databases and internet servers.

Data Center OE (DC-OE)

The most complete HP-UX operating environment, combining virtualization and high availability capabilities for consolidated data center estates.

Let's talk about layered oe support.
