An online backup strategy allows users to remain on the system during backups, virtually eliminating daily system downtime — and removing downtime caused by repairing faulty tape drives.

Extends backup lifetime

Tapes have a limited shelf life and are easily damaged by temperature, humidity and even loading them into a drive. Copies on flash, portable drives or SSDs significantly increase longevity and reliability.
